Yesteryear Football – Vintage Football Shirts

Do you remember who you supported when you were a lad? Did you follow your team religiously or were you a bit flighty and followed whoever happened to be the team of the hour.

In my younger days I remember most everyone at school had favourite football team. There was Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspurs, West Ham and I even think we had a Chelsea supporter. Those days everyone collected football stickers, it was like an unwritten law and your sole purpose was to complete your Panini sticker album. Almost no one ever did this as there was always one or two very hard to get stickers.

It wasn’t long before everyone had their own football shirts that they wore after school when playing football so that you could pretend being your favourite player. Of course my team was Spurs, I was too young to bathe in the glory of the 1961 double however the late seventies and early eighties really were Tottenham’s glory days.
